A stroke can happen to anyone...

A stroke can have devastating and critical effects. In Australia, strokes kill more woman than men, despite it being more common on men. In 2016, 25,194 women suffered a stroke, and 4,917 women died as a result, making stroke the third biggest killer in women in Australia, it claims more lives than breast cancer annually.

Risk FACTORS...
Risk factors are, overweight, smoking, poor diet, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and diabetes. While one in five mowed are at risk of stroke, more than 80 percent of strokes are preventable.

SYMPTOMS...
Remember the symptoms with acronym FACT;
F - Face is dropping
A - Arms can't both be lifted
S - Speech is slurred
T - Time is critical. If you see any of these signs, call 000 immediately.
